A Christ-centered, missional church …

August 31
No 8:00am service beginning this Sunday.
Gospel Music Fest!

On Sunday, August 31 all the music at the 10:00 a.m. worship service will be from the huge repertoire of songs written by the Gaithers – William and Gloria! A special vocal quartet of Doré Furstenberg,Beth Baravetto, Peter Sims and Steve Spencer will sing a wonderful arrangement of “Because He Lives” as well as “The King is Coming.” Congregational hymns include “There’s Something About That Name,” “The Longer I Serve Him” and “He Touched Me.” Make sure you’re with us to share in this glorious, faith-inspired gospel music so beloved by many Christians throughout this country.
September 14
3rd Annual Boathouse Service!

We'll gather at the Walstrom boathouse (next to the Pier restaurant) for a special service to celebrate God's life-giving water. Tables and chairs will fill the space and we'll all enjoy breakfast together before spending time in outdoor worship, always a highlight of the year! We'll plan to eat at 10:00 and worship will follow our meal together.

Congregational Discussions Where We Are & Where We Hope to Be:
Thank you for attending our Congregational Discussions. These offered an opportunity for each of you to talk about where First Presbyterian is today and your hopes for our future. Habitat for Humanity

NW Michigan Habitat for Humanity needs you!  Volunteer opportunities exist to help this local missional organization build homes for families in need in our own community. No matter whether you are skilled or unskilled, volunteers are always needed for scheduled weekdays/nites, or half/whole Saturday Workbees at multiple Alanson, Pellston or Petoskey building sites throughout the year.  Other year round volunteer opportunities exist in the ReStore or serving on planning committees and affiliate governance. Come alone, come as a congregation, come with a family member, business associate or friend, and help us build homes! For current Workbee schedules, visit Habitat’s website at http://www.northwestmihabitat.org, Volunteer Tab. The need is now!  Thank you for your help!

Prayers Needed?
Do you know someone who you would like to be added to our prayer list or who needs a visitation? Please let them know first, and then call the office (526-7332). We will ask for the correct name spelling and any other information that they would like to be shared with our Deacons. Stephen Ministers are also available to support these needs.
